This Week at Xavier

by xaviermagazineextra

The week before Valentine’s Day is all about last-minute planning.  And if you’re starting to sweat because you’re still looking for something sweet, worry no more: Xavier’s got you covered. Whether you’re a classical music enthusiast, looking for a date, looking to impress a date or anything in-between, one of these on-campus events will be sure to pull your heartstrings.

Freedom Time: Touching History Institute
Tuesday, February 5
February is black history month. Among other things, that means coming together despite physical, mental and spiritual differences. And although XU and UC are rivals on the basketball court, students and faculty from both universities are coming together this evening for a night of dialogue, learning and presentations focused on modern and historical slavery. Bring a friend, date or family member. Or come by yourself—you might meet someone special. Click here for more details.

Xavier Music Series: Classical Piano
Sunday, February 10
Love the sound of the piano? Treat yourself and someone else to some ear-candy as award-winning classical pianist Dror Biran tickles the ivory keys during Xavier Music Series’ classical piano concert. The performance will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Gallagher Student Center Theater. Tickets run $3 to $19.
