March has finally arrived, and that means one thing for students: Spring Break. Some might be lucky enough to head to a sandy coast, but if you’re like the rest of us, you’re stuck here in Cincinnati wishing for a few days of warm weather.

But don’t let that turn you into a victim– you can find the heat right here on Xavier’s campus. With two men’s basketball games included on this week’s calendar, a star-powered appearance by an award-winning choir and a special guest from the Cincinnati Zoo, the next seven days are only beginning to heat up. Check out this week’s hottest events.

Men’s Basketball vs. Massachusetts

Men’s Basketball vs. St. Louis

Cincinnati Zoo Cat Ambassador
March 6, Smith Hall Atrium
The Internet isn’t the only entity that can have a love affair with cats– Xavier can has one too. In fact, we even have a professor on campus who photographs cheetahs in his free time. Savannah, the newest and youngest member of the Cincinnati Zoo’s Cheetah Encounter facility, has been appointed XU’s very own feline ambassador. She’s ready to introduce herself and teach you about wildlife and conservation, so stop by and see how meow-valous she is. 5:00 p.m. Free admission.

Want a cuteness overload? Check out this video clip of Savannah playing with her best friend Max, the puppy.

Oakwood University Aeolians Tour Concert
March 7, Bellarmine Chapel
Join the Music and Theatre department as they welcome the Oakwood University Aoelians, World Choir Games winner of the “Spiritual” category, to the Xavier stage. The Aeolians of Oakwood University was originally organized in 1946, and since then the choir has traveled widely, performing in front of large and small audiences. Aeolian concerts present a repertoire of choral music, ranging from the Baroque era to the twentieth century. 7:00 p.m. Free admission.
